So as most of you know, I have started a new job. And I absolutely love my job. I am getting do some marketing work for a very small company (see previous post about the interview). I have worked there a full three weeks so far, but it feels like I have worked their for months. I was thrown right in. My days either consist of researching potential clients or attending business meetings/lunches with clients. My boss is an extremely nice older gentleman who has had many business ventures in his life.. and boy does he have a lot of stories and wisdom to share. Every day I learn something new about his fella.
Well today, I was completely thrown for a loop. I couldn't believe what happened today, and I still don't know if I believe that it is for real.
We had a business lunch in Pearland today with one of Christmas lighting clients (probably our biggest client of the season). We went to eat at Gringos... which by the way, is a really good Tex-Mex restaurant. The restaurant is surrounded by what is called the Pearland Town Center, a huge shopping area with really nice stores and apartments in the upper levels of the stores and a hotel right in the middle. Really nice place. Well we are about done with the meeting, and the business part is over so we are all just kind of chatting. My boss asked the lady we were meeting with "What are the good places to shop over here?" And she started raving on and on and on about the Coach store that was there and that even if we are going to just go in and look around, we have to go into that store, that the people were so friendly and it was just a nice store yada yada yada. And my boss tells her "we will check it out" well I am figuring... what is the reason for us to go to this store, and figured that he was saying that just to please her. So we go to leave, and sure enough we drive around until we find the store and we go in. At this point, I am thinking.. well he is an honest guy so I should know he wouldn't lie and would keep his word to her. We are walking around, and man I tell you, I am in absolute heaven. I wish my closet looked like that :p We were there for about 15 minutes and Emily (my coworker) was literally trying on every piece of jewelry the store had. I was getting bored at this point because staring looking at things you want but can't afford can really mess with your head. I was just standing in the corner waiting to go and my boss walks up to me and says "pick something out". My friggin jaw hit the floor and I probably asked him about 10 times if he was playing around. He was completely serious and made Emily come explain to me that every once in a while he likes to treat his employees to nice things. So I finally snapped to that I was able to choose something in the store that I wanted, and of course I was going to choose a purse. MY BOSS BOUGHT ME A $300 COACH PURSE!! OH MY GOSH. I still cannot believe it. I am very greatful to have an awesome boss.
Then I get home and I talk to my mom who purchased a computer that I have been wanting for a while today. The computer has been on sale and I have been waiting until a time where I could budget it in to purchase it, which was going to be about three weeks from now. My mom informed me that she found out today the sale was ending tomorrow, so she was nice enough to purchase the computer for me on her credit card and is allowing me to pay her back once her bill comes in. I am now blogging on my brand new Dell All-in-one computer with a touchscreen. Oh and I absolutely love it as well.
So today was a good day. Except for one minor set back. We thought William was going to get to work close to home for about the next month, but unfortunately his boss in Carthage and his boss here are fighting over him, and the boss in Carthage won, so after a week of being at home, he has to return to Carthage on Monday. Sucks he doesn't get to stay home a little longer, but you know he must be a great worker if they are fighting over him!! Oh and we can't complain too much because at least he has a job somewhere! Jobs are hard to comeby in the construction biz right now.
Anyways, that was my awesome day, and hopefully this weekend it continues. We will be visting Pete's Dueling Piano bar for the first time tomorrow night. I guess we will see how it compares to Howl at the Moon, and I must say it has some fierce competition. But it is Lauren's birthday weekend, and we are going to celebrate!!! Talk to you all later, have a great weekend!

The purpose of a blog... this is it
So the point of a blog is to speak what is on your mind, right? It is where you go to let out everything you want to say out loud.. but maybe you don't have the guts, or the right person to listen? Typically when you say out loud the things you were scared to, all the reasons you were scared to say it become true. For instance.. what I am about to blog about, I have not said the words out loud except to my husband and best friend. I have not said them because I don't want the responses. I am not the one that is sitting around begging for people to feel sorry for me, or begging for people to give me advice. I honestly don't want that. But after today.. after I was told how terrible of a friend I am, basically because I don't keep in touch as well as I guess I should.. I figured what the heck.. everyone else is thinking about themselves and has no regard for what is going on in my life. So here it goes:
Just in case anyone forgot.. I was supposed to be having our baby at the end of this month. The day after our anniversary in fact. I was due July 26th. Truth is.. I am really depressed about it. The reason I got a job? Not necessarily because I wanted one, or needed one for financial reasons.. but because I needed something to keep my mind off the fact that I am not 9 months pregnant ready to bring my first baby into the world. I need a reason not to lay in bed all day. When I am in that kind of mood, I get texts or calls, and yes, I ignore them. Not because it has anything to do with the person who texted or called, but simply because my mind does not want to do anything but sulk. When you see me "happy".. it is a mask. I am pulling the wool over your eyes, because who wants anyone to know they are depressed. But I am going to keep smiling, and keep pretending everything is OK. Why? Because I need to work this out on my own. I am hoping that July 26th will come and go, and things will be OK after that. If not, then I may need to seek help.. but again, I don't want you comments.. let me deal with this my way.
But about today... minus the whole "you're a bad friend" thing.. my first day of work was great. I didn't sit and think about what this month was all day. It was nice, and I am actually in a better mood than I have been in a long time. So just in case there is anyone else out there that thinks I am so horrible, please understand, that you are not the only person with crap going on in their life. The thing that is making me want to "x" out of this blog right now, and not even make this post is that I know after you read these words, you are going to feel sorry for me, or you are going to start typing some "encouraging" words in the comment space to try to make me feel better. Again, I will reiterate.. I don't want that. I just want you to understand. And in all honesty.. unless you have actually sat there staring at a calendar wishing a certain day would never come because it was the day a precious little life was supposed to enter your world...there is nothing you can do for me.
Anyways, I am once again, going to slap a smile on my face, and pretend it isn't July so I can get ready for bed to go to my second day of work tomorrow. Which by the way, I am loving my job. I am going to get to experience some really awesome things. Tomorrow night I get to go to an awesome dinner at the Crowne Plaza hotel in downtown and learn how it really feels to network and make connections. My first day on the job today my boss assigned me project of marketing in another state!! I have already made some progress and have a potential client. I think this job is just what I needed to help pull me out of my funk and I am so greatful that I am getting this opportunity!

Here ya go!
It was brought to my attention this evening that I have neglected my blogging duties. Which, I agree, I have not been keeping up. I guess I haven't found much to want to share lately.
I could have blogged about our new puppy I guess. If you have been on Facebook, you have already seen pics of my precious little Harley. He is a mini Australian Shepherd with a blue merle coat, and he is so stinking cute. The cats haven't adjusted very well to him yet. Poor baby wants them to play with him so badly, but they just meow at him and slap him then run! Then he looks at me like "did I do something wrong??" But he loves to go running. We will ride our bikes and he will run along beside us. Also we go on 1 to 2 walks a day and he likes to run ahead then wait for us to catch up. Oh, and on our walks we pass by a house that has two horses, and he always stops and stares at them.. he is so intrigued! Anyways, I am going to post a pic of my baby:
For an update on the house: we have finally gotten almost completely unpacked. Next step is to save up some money so we can fix up everything the way we would like. Our extra two bedrooms are empty still. One will be my home office, so I need office furniture. And the other will be a spare bedroom, which we need a bed set for. I am also thinking a crib may go in there as I have many friends with babies, and it would be a nice thing to have just in case they ever need to sleep over. We still need a few things to finish the game room, such as curtains, but other than that, the game room looks great. Our bedroom needs some serious help. Our bedroom set is falling apart, but it is atleast functional for now. Oh, and our bedding doesn't match the walls, but that will change one day too :) I am still very happy with my house! We make our first mortgage payment this month which is not only scary but exciting to know that we are paying towards something we OWN and are not paying to furnish someone elses big house with rent!
I applied for an internship last month with the Houston Astros, but was never contacted about an interview or anything so I gave up and decided to begin looking for a job. This evening I sent my resume to a gentleman who posted an ad on Craigslist in search of a marketing/PR assistant. The job sounds like an amazing opportunity but a lot of the job consists of things in which I lack experience. But I contacted the guy and let him know that I am still in school but am interested in learning the ropes and gaining some real experience outside the classroom. I got a call from him about thirty minutes later where he talked to me for about half an hour explaining the type of work he does and what he needs help with. I am feeling pretty confident since he knows I am still in school and inexperienced but still set me up with an interview for Thursday. I am so excited and so nervous. I have done a lot of reading on his businesses and his inventions to know the products that I would be helping him market and I feel good about the interview. The guy is very smart and I am looking forward to learning from him if he gives me the opportunity. If you are at all interested in the main product he spends his time marketing (and the product he created) here is the website:

I will update you guys Thursday after the interview to let you know how it went. I am asking for prayers, crossed fingers, and good luck wishes!!! Have a great night!!

All the Reminiscing
Everyone always something that remind them of something from the past. For me, most of the time it is a movie or a song. Lately I have been seeing many of those movies and hearing many of those songs that take me back to 10 years old with my bff. That was always our thing... she would introduce me to movies I had never seen and I her. Same with music... I brought a little bit of Country into her life and she informed me that there was in fact other genres out there other than Country. Ha, who knew?!
Anyways, this evening I am sitting here watching a movie that Laurie MADE me watch even after I told her it did not sound like anything I would I ever want to watch. She insisted the title was just silly and that I should give it a chance. So I did, and it became an all time favorite of mine. Even though I am sitting here alone enjoying the movie and Laurie is hundreds of miles away taking care of her family I feel as though she is here. It is Friday night and she is spending the night and we are still up at 2 in the morning waiting on my mom to get home from work with our ice cream!!
So what is this movie I am watching that is taking me back?? "Fried Green Tomatoes" of course!!!
Anyways, I hadn't posted in a while so I thought I should, and since much hasn't changed since the last time I blogged, I figured why not relive a bit of the past. Have a good night!!

Woo What a Weekend!!
So we are all moved in!!! Our furniture has been delivered (minus the end tables, which will be here Friday), the pool table is put together, and we even have some decorations up. It has been really nice having our own place again. I know the cats are happy too (they no longer have to be kept in a small bedroom).
William finally got to come home this past Thursday night for the first time in three weeks. He got to come home and see his house for the first time. We spent many parts of the weekend working on the exterior of our house as well as vising with a lot of people we love.
Our weekend consisted of a lot of people coming by to check out the new place. Friday night I had a couple of friends over for dinner before we went out for one of their birthdays. We went to Howl at the Moon in Houston and had a blast. I am glad she had fun. Afterwards we had our first sleep over in the new house!!
Saturday consisted of work outside then a night with my family for my niece's graduation. We had a delicious bbq dinner before heading to the BH stadium to watch the graduation. I was so proud. Oh, and while I am a bragging aunt, Ashleigh went to the State Choir competition this weekend and received a 1 on her solo!!!! That's what's up!!!
Sunday William put his pool table together which made the house complete for him. When people would ask him how he liked the house he would reply "it's alright" or "I like it" but once that pool table was put up he LOVED the house. It really helped too that for a belated birthday present for him, my mom got him some pool accessories. We ended our Sunday evening by swimming at my sister's and enjoying some more delicious bbq. Oh, and we had s'mores which were amazing as well!
Monday being a holiday, we decided to have a little birthday party for William since he was all alone in Carthage for his birthday last weekend. We bbq'd some burgers, hotdogs, and sausage.. had a cookies n cream cake... and had many many games of pool. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. I think our first party was a success!
Now it is back to the swing of things. William is back in Carthage and I am getting ready to start summer school next week. Maybe I can get a lot of work done in the house this week before next week starts more crazyness!

Niece is Graduating!!!!
Last night we celebrated the upcoming graduation of Ashleigh with a "Red Carpet Affair" party. The guests were advised to wear a costume portraying a character from a movie or television show. I was not creative enough to come up with anything, so I was a party pooper and did not dress up, however all the kids did and they all looked soo good! Especially Ashleigh and her boyfriend Ethan. They were Bella and Edward from Twilight. Ash did such a good job on their make up and hair and they really did look like them! Also following the Twilight theme was Flora dressed as Alice Cullen and Megan dressed as Renesme! They were all so cute!
Also attending the party was Ryan dressed as James Bond, and kids who's names I do not know were dressed as: Betty Boop, Black Swan, Steve Martin, Peter Griffin, Trenity from Matrix, Indian Princess (from Slumdog Millionaire I think??), James Dean, Sandy as well as Danny from Grease, Farris Bueller, Kathryn Heigl in 27 dresses, Regina George from Mean Girls, Belitrix Lestrange, Luna Lovegood, Wendy from Peter Pan, a Geisha, a Token Black Guy, Alice in Wonderland, and the Madhatter.
All that fun aside I cannot believe out little girl is graduating!! I was six years old when she was born and next weekend I will be watching her walk across a stage and receive her high school diploma. I am extremely proud of her and can't wait to see what the future holds for her.
Once the kids were done with the costume awards, they changed and went out into the pool. That is when my sister, mom and myself sat down to a good ol' game of Phase 10! I did SOO good in the beginning.. then I got my butt handed to me! It was my WORST game ever. It took me seven rounds just to get ONE stupid phase. UGH. Needless to say, I was not happy!!!
All in all it was a good time. I got to visit with my family and enjoy some yummy snacks in the mean time.

Update on the House!
Oh my goodness what a process this has been.
We were told a while back that once the house got delivered set up would only take about three days. So can someone please explain to me why the heck we got our house on Monday, and here it is almost Friday, and I am still not moved into my new house?!?!? Granted, the house is livable... just not comfortably livable.
The air conditioner company will not be out until Monday to instal the air conditioner and put the skirting up around the house. There have been soo many issues just to get to this point though. Nothing we couldn't handle.. but still frustrating nonetheless. There was a misunderstanding regarding who was hooking up the water (us or the construction crew). We knew it wasn't us because the only thing we took out of the contract was the electricity and driveway in order to lower our monthly payment.. nothing about plumbing!! So that was delayed a day while we waited for it to get straightened out.
The people at the building supply store here in Dayton probably know me by name by now. Between all the wrong items and the need for extra items that we forgot/didn't know we need.. I hope I don't have to go back there anytime soon! Oh.. and I can't forget the aluminum electrical wire that I drove all the way to Humble to get and purchased 2/3 more than we needed. LUCKILY they were nice enough to let us return it (something that is unheard of). But that meant another drive to Humble.
There were more little things that were aggravating and frustrating along the way, but this blog would go on for days if I wrote them all out. On a positive note, the house has water and electricity as of today.. our new living room furniture will be delivered on Saturday.. and we will be moving everything out of storage into the house on Monday. Just a few more days and it will all be over :)
I am just sad that I am getting to experience all of this while William is working out of town. Poor thing is working insane amounts of overtime and hasn't gotten to come home in two weeks. He doesn't even get to come home for his birthday this weekend. Eh, well someone has to pay the bills!! I will post pictures once set up is completely done and there is furniture in the house.

Finally

So the house is finally here!!! YAY!! So much has gone on the past two days. Monday the electrical engineer finally came out to the property to tell us where we can put our light pole. He wasn't at all very helpful on the questions we had, and was only there for about 30 seconds. I was a tad bit aggravated considering it took us almost a month to get the guy out here. But anyways, since he finally came, we were able to order our light pole and have it delivered to the property. So we (some family members and myself) put the pole up Monday evening. That was when I tripped and fell UNDER the heavy pole that almost got dropped on me. HA! As if that wasn't funny enough, my foot got a massive cramp while trying to get up that was so bad I couldn't uncross my toes! If you think it sounds funny, you should have been there to witness it! Today we spent all day getting the correct wire (which I ended up getting WAAAAY too much of thanks to miscommunication) and pvc pipes then digging up a lot of dirt to lay the electrical wires. Man am I sore today.. and to be honest I didn't do THAT much!
The contractors were supposed to be out at the property today to finish installing the well, hooking it up to the house, hooking up the septic, the siding, skirting, plumbing, and all the work that needs to be done inside, as well as building the stairs to actually get in the house. However, the parts they needed to complete the well did not come in today as they were supposed to, so they won't be out until tomorrow. Which was fine, because that gave us a chance to bury the pvc pipes without being in the way.
Tomorrow will be another long day of work since we have to do all the electrical hook up for well, septic, and AC. But hopefully after tomorrow, everything will be done and we will be waiting on the electrician to come out and inspect then hook up our pole to the street pole and VUALA (sp?)-- we will have power and can move in!!!
So I am not very good at this blogging thing yet.. But I will try to get better. Hope you have an outstanding night/day!!

Welcome
So, I have been keeping up with many blogs of friends, and I decided that I wanted one too. Here you will read stories of the experiences and the growth of a young married couple. I guess this means William and I will have to start doing more exciting things. **Hint*Hint**. Ha, just kidding.
I guess to get this thing started I will talk about the most obvious thing going on in our lives right now and that is the purchase of our first home! We came across a great opportunity to purchase a piece of property from Williams grandfather for a price that was too good to pass up. Our budget (not to mention credit approval) would not allow for us to build on the property so we have decided on a manufactured home. We found a gorgeous 1700 sq. foot Champion home that we were able to completely customize to our likings and order.
It was a long long LOOONG road to close on the house. We began the process in OCTOBER and just finally closed in MARCH! Of course it didn't help that William is working out of town, and the house is in his name. Just getting the correct power of attorney form was a nightmare. If anyone ever said buying a home was easy, they were lieing to you!
Not only was it a long process getting the paperwork done, but we had along road of preparing the land. William and a few of his family members worked every weekend on the land getting it ready. Man did they work hard. I regret not taking pictured documenting their process :( The work they did included: clearing of trees and brush, ripping the stumps out of the ground, leveling the property with sand, putting in a culvert, and putting in a driveway which consisted of pouring and leveling out clay and then covering with crushed concrete. All the guys who worked on the property on the weekends did such a great job. We still have a little bit of work to do on the leveling front, but the low areas are in the back of the backyard and can wait a little bit longer. The main priority was getting the area where the house will be taken care of.
Since we finally got to close on the loan, the contractors were able to begin the work they needed to do. This included: preping the pad where the trailer will be, putting in the concrete runners, and putting in the septic system. They will also be putting in the well but that will come after we get the light pole installed since they have to hook it all together.
We were originally told that it would be about four weeks to make the house. However, during that fourth week while were very impatiently waiting for them to contact us and tell us it was on the way, we get an e-mail saying that the house won't begin to be delivered until the week of May 16th!!! Ugh, so not what we wanted to hear, and considering everything else that has gone on recently... it would be really nice if just ONE thing could go right the first time!!!!!
So currently, we are living with William's parents who live just a few houses down from our property. Yep, the born and raised Baytownian has moved to DAYTON!!! I think some of you were beginning to think I would never get out of Baytown! Ha! So far, I am enjoying the country life. Not that Baytown was the city life, but it is compared to Dayton. I will enjoy it so much more when I have my house with my yard.
Well this is going to end my first post. Keep checking back and I will try to post about 3 times a week at least.
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!
